Welcome back NBA

The NBA is finally back. I really missed it. My Boston Celtics opened up the season by raising BANNER 17, yes the 17th World Championship in their history (most in the NBA.) The players also received their rings which were fairly nice i guess. Captain Paul Pierce was brought to tears and boy did he earn that ring. He stuck here despite several losing seasons and being the only decent player for years.

The game was alright but there was evident rust. Players have not yet found their range and conditioning still seemed to be an issue as players were getting shuffled in and out to endure this game.

It seemed like the game was going to come down to the last possession. Score was 83-86 and Lebron James was at the stripe with 10+ seconds left in the game. He missed the first, sunk the second. They're down by two, 84-86 and C's play keep away. Outlet to BIG GAME LEON POWE who slams it home; misses the and one. The defending champs started the season off right with a victory against respectable opponent and eastern conference foe; Cleveland Cavaliers.

KEY NOTES:
Captain Paul Pierce accounted for the majority of the teams points early as many starters struggled to find their rhythm.

Leon Powe slammed a facial in (what a coincidence) Cleveland's Delonte 'Dirty Face' West's gangrene infested mouth.

The C's came back from an early, EARLY deficit to capture the victory.

Around the NBA there are some intriguing matchups.

Scott Skiles, current Milwaukee Bucks head coach returns to Chicago to face the team that fired him Christmas Eve and now posses highly touted number one pick and so-called second coming of MJ, Derrick Rose. I expect a lot from the Bulls especially with offseason pickups: Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden. Maybe they are overrated but if those two stay healthy and play to their potential, contract yr. potential that is, these Baby Bulls can possibly make some noise. I'm not saying they're Toronto, Cleveland or Boston, but I'm saying watch 'em closely.

Then there's this game that I'm currently watching: 2008 Runner-Up Los Angeles Lakers taking on the now Western Conference contender, Portland Trailblazers. I'm really expecting a lot from this group of young men. There is great talent on this team and some possible superstars. Many are expecting Greg Oden to be a beast because of his size and style of play. Then there's Brandon Roy, Lamarcus Aldridge, and Rudy Fernandez who might be the best international player to come in this year.

As you can see I'm pretty excited for this NBA season and this title defense. Hope you enjoy this season as much as I know I will.
